The Venice Film Festival Kicks Off

Friday August 29, 2003
The 59th Venice Film FestivalWoody Allen loves Venice. First, he married Soon Yi in the gorgeous Italian city, and now he premiered "Anything Else" to open the Venice film festival. The film stars Christina Ricci, Jason Biggs, Danny Devito, and no surprise, Allen himself. All were on hand for the film's premiere. Robert Rodriguez's "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" showed out of competition with Johnny Depp and Salma Hayek in attendance. Other highly anticipated films include Sofia Coppola's "Lost In Translation" and new films from renowned film makers Takeshi Kitano, Jim Jarmusch, the Coen Brothers, and Peter Greenaway.
