Leni Riefenstahl Dies At 101

Tuesday September 9, 2003
Leni RiefenstahlHitler's favorite filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl has died at age 101. Infamous for creating "Triumph of the Will," considered the best propaganda film ever made, Riefenstahl continued to make films until her death. At age 72, she took up scuba diving, and at 100, Riefenstahl released a new film based on her dives, "Impressions Under Water." Ray Muller's powerful 1993 documentary "The Wonderful, Horrible Life of Leni Riefenstahl" takes a fascinating look at the enigmatic, controversial artist. Read the obituary and visit the official website cataloging her lifelong career.
