New DVD Reviews

Fear and oppression weigh heavily in all three of our favorite recent DVD releases: in Fassbinder's "Ali: Fear Eats the Soul," an immigrant worker falls in love with a German cleaning lady; two murderous women try to make a living in times of war in the Japanese classic "Onibaba;" and last year's celebrated Irish film "The Magdalene Sisters" tells you things about organized religion you'll never learn from "The Passion of the Christ."
