Disney Blocks "Fahrenheit 911" Release
Thursday May 6, 2004
On orders from parent company Disney, Miramax won't release Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 911." This news comes after Miramax head Harvey Weinstein invested $6 million into the controversial documentary. The film, which will premiere in the prestigious official competition at Cannes this month, examines the Bush family ties to Saudi Arabia before and after the September 11 attacks. Today's New York Times condemns the decision.
