Franka Potente Traverses Continents, Acts and Directs

Franka Potente secured an enduring place in German film history as flame-haired, fast-running Lola in Tom Tywker's 1998 "Run Lola Run." She's gone on to star in numerous German movies including "The Princess and the Warrior" and the smash horror hit "Anatomy." The talented actress was also a surprise hit in Hollywood, scoring leading roles opposite Johnny Depp and Matt Damon. Next up for the actress, a star turn in Oskar Roehler's pyscho-sexual thriller "Atomised" ("Elementarteilchen"), reteaming Potente with "Lola" co-star Moritz Bleibtreu. (Watch the trailer.)In a recent career turn, Potente has also gone behind the camera. Her directorial debut "Digging For Belladonna" will premiere at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival as part of the Perspektive Deutsches Kino program. The short film is a black-and-white silent production, featuring performances by leading German talent Emilia Sparagna, Christoph Bach, Max Urlacher, Justus von Dohnanyi and Teresa Harder.
