Philippe Noiret, 1930 - 2006

Beloved French actor Philippe Noiret, best known for his roles as Pablo Neruda in Il Postino and the kindly projectionist in Cinema Paradiso, died of cancer on Thursday. During his long career, which began in earnest when he played the uncle of a foul-mouthed brat in Louis Malle's Zazie Dans Le Metro, Noiret acted in more than 125 movies.
