Sundance Business Report Take One: Grace is Gone
Monday January 22, 2007
The first sale at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival has been made. Weinstein Co. bought the rights to Grace is Gone for $4 million. John Cusack stars as a bereaved widower who must tell his two young daughters that his wife, a U.S. soldier, has died fighting the war in Iraq. James C. Strouse, who wrote the screenplay for Lonesome Jim, makes his directorial debut with this melancholy drama. Early reviews of the heartfelt tearjerker are decidedly mixed.
