- Free Thai Cinema: Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Tropical Malady) is protesting censors in his home country, who demanded cuts to his new film Syndromes and a Century. The film opens in the US on Friday. You are invited to sign the online petition. IFC has an interview. [via Twitch and GreenCine]
- Akira 2019 is an in-depth site dedicated to Katsuhiro Otomo's classic film, which still tops our list of top ten anime. [via Metafilter]
- The occasional indie/world film face finds its way into Famousr, a devilishly addictive hot-or-not-style site for rating celebrities. Marcy's record is 52 in a row.
