New on DVD: Berlin Alexanderplatz, Paris Je T'Aime, This Is England

Tuesday November 13, 2007

We don't know why, but this week's edition of recommended new DVDs is especially Euro-centric: Criterion is releasing Rainer Werner Fassbinder's fifteen-hour Berlin Alexanderplatz, Marion Cotillard portraits Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose (La Môme), Shane Meadows tells a skinhead coming-of-age story in This is England, and an impressive roster of international auteurs and a legion of stars celebrate the city of lights with the anthology film Paris, Je T'Aime.
