Sundance Picks Opening Film
Tuesday November 20, 2007
Irish Playwright Martin McDonagh's first feature In Bruges will kick off the independent film festival on January 17, 2008. A twisted tale of two London hit men who are ordered to
take a forced vacation in Belgium after botching a job, McDonagh's film stars Ralph Fiennes, Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. It's no secret that a strong showing at Sundance often translates into box office gold. The most buzzed about film of the year that we still haven't seen, Ivan Reitman's Juno, played to enormous popular acclaim at this year's festival. In 2006, it was all about Little Miss Sunshine, which went on to receive a Best Film Oscar nomination.
