Berlinale Journal, Day 8 & 9

As the 58th Berlinale winds down, the phrase that's been popping into Jurgen's mind is "auf dem Zahnfleisch gehen," -- literally, "walking on one's gums." In this diminished state, our intrepid film critic views Katyn, Andrzej Wajda's academy-award nominated film about the World War II massacre, the redemption of Kirstin Scott Thomas in I've Loved You So Long, the disappointing Ballast, and Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman in the period costume drama The Other Boleyn Girl.
