Online Movies: Ryan Adams

The post-Oscar doldrums hit the theaters every year, but it must say something about our current moment that the most exciting new movies I've seen these last few weeks appeared on the typo-ridden tumble-blog of a moody rock star: Ryan Adams's D.R. Adams Films, nicknamed "Foggy," is a never-ending, must-check-daily source of inspiration, poetry, images, and experimental short films shot and scored by the singer and songwriter himself.
Whether he's interviewing punk legend Bob Mould, sketching throw-away anthems to Thursday night, or visiting a guitar shop, Adams presents himself with confessional honesty and fearless hunger for making things. (No, he never dated Wynona Ryder, and he does recommend you watch Krull.) No doubt, here's an exceptionally courageous artist learning how to minimize the time it takes for an idea to reach its audience. For weeks and weeks already, the big studios have been spending millions of dollars to stoke anticipation over Iron Man and Speed Racer, but I'm eagerly awaiting the next post on Foggy. [Jurgen]

Well, it was fun while it lasted. He’s been threatening it all along, but it looks like Foggy and all the video clips on Vimeo have been taken down….
Looks like the blog is back but the archives are gone — right now, it looks like he’s starting over, and he’s in Paris. No videos at the moment.
you have got to love his volatile moods, he keeps me quessing and wanting more
