Review: War, Inc.

Go to Rotten Tomatoes and you'll see what a beating John Cusack's labor of love, War, Inc., is taking with the critics. The satire, directed by John Seftel, has received a variety of damning insults from "despicable" to "regrettable misfire." Maybe this bad buzz paves the way to future cult classic. Marcy, who saw the film at the Tribeca Film Festival, doesn't get it. What's not to like? The ridiculous, reliable charm of Cusack, in the role of a tormented hit man, the eye-opening theories of Naomi Klein, Marisa Tomei more appealing than ever as a fearless reporter, and Hillary Duff as teenage pop princess with the memorable monicker Yonica Babyyeah. War, Inc. opens this Friday. Watch John Cusack talk with Diablo Cody about the critics' reaction on his MySpace page. Read Marcy's review.
