Burn After Reading, the Coen Brothers' follow-up to No Country for Old Men, opened the 2008 Venice Film Festival tonight. The Guardian has video and GreenCine Daily rounds up early reviews.

Other highlights of the festival, which runs through September 6, include new films by Hayao Miyazaki, Takeshi Kitano, Abbas Kiarostami, Manoel de Oliveira, Christian Petzold, and Darren Aronofsky. More on Venice from Variety and the New York Times, and the complete lineup.
