The Education of Charlie BanksBest known as lead singer for 90's nu metal band Limp Bizkit, Fred Durst has directed his first feature film. For a controversial pop star who once claimed he did it "all for the nookie," his first feature film The Education of Charlie Banks is a surprisingly amiable coming-of-age tale, especially remarkable for its honesty about class.

Rising star Jesse Eisenberg, of The Squid and the Whale and the soon to be released Adventureland, provides the film with a shaggy-haired hero who carefully negotiates the intrusion of an unwelcome childhood bully (Jason Ritter) into his idyllic Ivy League surroundings.

The Education of Charlie Banks opens in limited release this Friday. Read Jurgen's review.

Definitely a must see. Especially for the curious, who have dismissed Mr. Durst as lead singer of the rap/metal band Limp Bizkit. Mr. Durst shows he has the chops to pull off a rather remarkable film.

I agree. I recently saw it with my husband over the weekend and can’t say anything but great things about the honest and emotional coming of age tale. Get out and see it if you can.
