Review: The Limits of Control

In a Jim Jarmusch film, certain elements are a given: the cool factor, the slow-moving plot bordering on inscrutability, the hip soundtrack. In the past, though, Jarmusch also provided characters with recognizable motivations and more than just hints of an actual story. The Limits of Control, about an impeccably dressed hit man (Isaach De Bankolé) in Spain, is all style, no soul.
The Limits of Control opens today, with an international cast of cool cats that includes Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Gael Garcia Bernals, John Hurt, and lovely Paz de la Huerta -- who is never allowed to wear clothing. Read Marcy's review.
