The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Wes Anderson's first animated film, will have its world premiere at The Times BFI London Film Festival on October 14, 2009. The film is co-written by co-written by Noah Baumbach. Wes Anderson, and voice talent George Clooney, Meryl Streep, and Jason Schwartzman are expected to attend the opening night screening.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox uses classic handmade stop motion techniques to tell the story of the best selling children’s book by British author Roald Dahl. The film won't open in wide release until November 13th, 2009.
We'll admit: we're excited. Anderson's last film The Darjeeling Limited, the spiritual journey of three brothers through India on a slow moving train, was funny and moving and profound -- and a visual treat at that. Let's see what the filmmaker will achieve with animation.
