The 64th Cannes Film Festival begins on May 11, and most of the films in the major categories have been announced now. Of the films showing in competition, we're most excited about Pedro Almodovar's The Skin I Inhabit, Aki Kaurismäki's Le Havre, Lynn Ramsey's We Need to Talk About Kevin, Lars von Trier's Melancholia -- and of course The Tree of Life, from Terence Malick.
Other notable premieres include Gus Van Sant's Restless, showing in Un Certain Regard, as well as Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and Jodie Foster's The Beaver, which are screening out of competition.
The official Cannes Film Festival site has the complete lineup, and The Mubi Notebook also collects reactions from critics around the web.
