Director Drake Doremus has firmly established himself as the purveyor of romantic mumblecore. He began his career by putting together lonely misfits in Moon Pie, and followed up with love longshots Spooner and Douchebag. In Like Crazy, co-written with Ben York Jones, Doremus takes on young love. Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin star as young lovers enduring a long-distance relationship.
Like Crazy opens nationwide this week. Although charming and, at times, poignant, the montage-laden film never reaches beyond a shorthand of film. Read Beck Ireland's review.
