Director/writer Rian Johnson relies on self-consciousness and narration to get him through the tricky parts of his latest feature film. Billed as a time travelling crime thriller, Looper stubbornly refuses to address the consequences of its main concept. Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star, with Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels and Paul Dano in supporting roles.
