Indie Stars turn to Villiany
Thursday March 24, 2005
Parker Posey, best known for her quirky roles in indie film, has a nice
side-line as the Hollywood villian. She turned to the dark side in such
big budget films as "Josie and the Pussycats" and "Blade: Trinity" and
has recently been cast as Kitty Koslowski, Lex Luthor's partner in crime
in "Superman Returns."
Thomas Haden Church, riding high on "Sideways" fame, also nabbed himself a plum role as a bad guy. He'll play Venom in "Spider-Man 3" scheduled to open in 2007. Chloe Sevigny, with roles in such indie fare as "Brown Bunny" and "Kids," is also looking to turn mainstream. First Sevigny played a bland socialite in "Melinda and Melinda." Now the actress is also angling for a villianous part in the Spider-Man series, saying there's a "blond, buxom girl" just right for her.
