Bruhl made his screen acting debut at the age of 15 in the TV movie "Svens Geheminis" and followed this with Miguel Alexandre's Der Pakt (1995), Bernd Boehlich's Blutiger Ernst (1997) as well as "Schlaraffenland" (1998) by Friedemann Fromm, "Honolulu" (1999) by Vanessa Jopp, and "Deeply" (1999) by Sheri Elwood. In January 2002, he was named Best Newcomer Actor at the Bavarian Film Awards for his performances in Benjamin Quabeck's "No Regrets" (Nichts Bereuen, 2001), Hans Weingartner's "The White Sound" (Das weisse Rauschen, 2001), and Zoltan Spirandelli's Vaya Con Dios (2002).
Next up, Bruhl will share the screen with infamous Dames Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, and Natascha McElhone in Charles Dance's English drama "Ladies In Lavendar."
