Indie Actor Dreams Big:

Michael Pitt is one of the independent film movements most notorious stars. Recent roles include the sadist Paul in Michael Haneke's blood curdling Funny Games and Toby Grace, a homeless paparazzo in Tom Dicillo's Delirious In Gus Van Sant's acclaimed Last Days, based on the life of Kurt Cobain, Pitt starred as Blake, an introspective artist whose success has left him in a lonely place. Pitt also starred in Bernardo Bertolucci's lush coming of age drama "The Dreamers" Review opposite Eva Green and Louis Garrel. Pitt first attracted notice with a recurring role on the popular television series Dawson's Creek.

In the summer of 2000, Pitt was chosen as one of the Twenty-Five New Faces of Independent Film in Filmmaker Magazine for being cast as Tommy Gnosis in the 2001 Sundance Film Festival Award Winner Hedwig And The Angry Inch. He went on to work with controversial film director Larry Clark in the 2001 summer release of Bullyand director Gus Van Sant in Finding Forester. Pitt co-starred with Sandra Bullock in Murder by Numbers directed by internationally acclaimed director Barbet Schroeder. His current projects include starring roles in Aaron Woodley’s Rhinoceros Eyes, which won the Discovery Award at 2003 Toronto International Film Festival.
