Birth Date: January 17, 1971.
Place of Birth: Lyon, Rhône, France.
Biography: The child of Italian immigrants, Sylvie Testud spent her childhood in Lyon, France. She studied acting in Paris at the National Academy of Dramatic art. Her first starring role was in the German film "Marie's Song: I Was I Know Not Where" (1994.) She has also starred in Thomas Vincent's highly acclaimed "Karnaval" (1999) which won her first Cesar nomination for Most Promising Atress. She was nominated again and won the Cesar for "Murderous Maids" (2000). Testud recently won the presigius Best Actress Cesar for her perfomance in "Fear and Trembling" (2003), a comedy inspired of the life of the romancière Amélie Nothomb.
