Guide Review - The Lovers on the Bridge DVD
Alex, a fire-eating homeless man, and Michele (Binoche), a painter who is losing her eye sight, meet on the Pont Neuf, a bridge in the heart of Paris, while it is closed for repairs. Their love story is told with wild abandon, whether they rub their foreheads against the asphalt in pain or waterski during the outrageous fireworks that mark the bicentennial of the French Revolution. Carax is a fearless director, and "Les Amant Du Point Neuf" may be his best film.
