Gerard Depardieu, like Babette before him, prepares a feast fit for the sun king. Oh wait, he is preparing a feast for the the sun king. Love, intrigue, and gluttony at the court of Louis XIV, written by none less then Tom Stoppard -- the guy who brought us Shakespeare in Love and also happens to be the arguably greatest English playwright living today. Uma Thurman is always great in costumes. Nonetheless, advance reviews make it sound as if this film was all eye candy and not much story.
