Unlike the Academy, I only nominate foreign films that actually played and that people have had a chance to see. No "huh?" nominations here. Also, I think that the one-film per country rule is nonsense, and I won't abide by it. (Edward Yang's Yi Yi still didn't make list. I don't care if the film covered life itself in three hours. I was bored and unmoved.)
