You can never see enough Juliette Binoche movies

Directed by Patrice Leconte; written (in French, with English subtitles) by Claude Faraldo; director of photography, Eduardo Sarra; edited by Joëlle Hache; produced by Gilles Legrand and Frédéric Brillion; released by Lions Gate Films. This film is rated R.

Cast: Juliette Binoche (Mme. La), Daniel Auteuil (the Captain), Emir Kusturica (Neel Auguste), Philippe Magnan (Judge Venot) and Michel Duchaussoy (the Governor).

In 1850 on the small, isolated Canadian island of Saint Pierre, a sailor, Neel Auguste, murders a man and receives the death penalty after a quick trial. Saint Pierre lacks the ne cessary tools for an execution, so while they wait for a guillotine to arrive from Paris, Neel Auguste moves into the house of the island's army captain. The captain's wife becomes fascinated by the prisoner and she initially lets him do small jobs around the house, but Neel soon becomes an indispensable presence in her life and in the community.

New York Times
"Ms. Binoche dispels all memory of the ridiculous "Chocolat." Once again she is a free spirit flying bravely in the face of provincial mores, but this time more than Miramax candy is at stake."

UpcomingMovies
"Patrice LeConte's latest film is a beautifully shot tale of cruel bureaucracy which I found to be harrowing, emotional, and heartwrenching."
