"The final reel of Rosetta is like nothing ever filmed, and it would be wrong to describe it. You would be astonished and not unmoved."Box Office Magazine
"Emilie Dequenne, who tied for the Best Actress award at Cannes, gives a strong performance of wild energy and angry forcefulness that carries the film. Though Rosetta is sometimes unsympathetic, the intensity of her struggle becomes a poignant film experience."Time Magazine
"In another country, or in lesser hands, a teenager's addiction to work could be a subject for comedy; the Dardenne brothers turn it into tragedy and transcendence."Matt Langdon, If Magazine
"Rosetta, the Belgian film that was this year's Palme d'Or winner, works so successfully at going to the core of a disturbed young woman's mental state that if you accept it in on its own level it can really get under your skin. Yet, it's not the kind of film that's easy to recommend because it's tough to watch, it's not particularly enjoyable and the main character is proudly selfish and presented as a severely serious nutcase."
