Aspen Gay and Lesbian Film Festival 2001

CALL FOR ENTRIES


Applications are now being accepted for the 2001 Aspen Gay and Lesbian Film Festival to be held January 20 through January 27,2001 as part of the 24th annual Aspen Gay Ski Week. This international celebration draws gays and lesbians from across the nation, Europe and Australia and is the oldest such event in the United States. 4000 men and women arrive here the last week of January each year for a week devoted to skiing, partying and film fare.

The gay and lesbian film series has been presented as part of the week's events for 20 years. Featured have been such films as the Colorado theatrical premier of THE CRYING GAME and the first festival screening of the gay hit, IT'S IN THE WATER. The festival also featured regional premiers of other films such as THE SUM OF US, THE HANGING GARDEN and LILIES which have gone on to commercial success.


Submissions may be narrative, documentary, feature length or short film. PRIZES will be offered for Best Picture ($2,000), Best Gay Short ($1,000), Best Lesbian Short ($1,000) and Audience Award Winner ($1,000) . Final selections must be
on 16mm or 35mm film. Preview tapes must be VHS NTSC and must be received by 12/1/00. An entry fee of $10.00 and a return envelope must accompany the entry for return of the preview tapes. Selected entrants will be notified by 12/15/00. Application forms will be sent by FAX or e-mail by contacting:
