this much fun!

Lifestyles of the Rich and Drugged-Out
"The Anniversary Party," which marks the directorial debut
of Jennifer Jason Leigh and Alan Cumming, is a success. Leigh and
Cumming, who wrote and directed, cast themselves as Joe and Sally,
a high profile Hollywood couple who celebrate their sixth wedding
anniversary. The screenplay is razor sharp, and the star-studded cast
(Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Kline, Jane Adams, Phoebe Cates, Parker Posey)
turn in remarkable performances. Don't get put off by the seemingly
narcissistic star-gazing. This film is smart and touching, painful
and fun. |
