Picture Perfect
"Ghost World" rocked at the theaters and is now out on DVD to be watched again and again. Thora Birch, Steve Buscemi, Scarlett Johansson star in Terry Zwigoff's adaptation of Daniel Clowe's comic book that is, paradoxically, much more real than any of the cartoonish confection that usually claim to be about teenagers. It's a teen movie without all the lies. These kids aren't entitled, they don't use cell phones or drive SUVs - they only have their sense of humor and attitute to guide them through a jungle of strip malls and conflicting emotions.

One of the best American films of 2001.
