Guide Review - Dancing At The Blue Iguana DVD
Michael Radford ("Il Postino") directed this look at the grungy side of strip clubs starring Daryl Hannah, Sandra Oh, Charlotte Ayanna, and Jennifer Tilly. As the actors explain in the bonus material, the film developed out of improvisation exercises, and this shows in the finished movie -- some scenes are much more inspired than others. The result is a film with occasional flashes of brilliance, lots of naked dancing, and certain characters' stories never going anywhere. Nonetheless, "Dancing at the Blue Iguana" is compelling throughout and well worth your time.
