Ira Sachs's film "Forty Shades of Blue" took the "American Dramatic Grand Jury Prize" at the Sundance 2005 Film Festival. Dina Korzun gives a riveting performance as a Russian woman living in Memphis who gets caught in a love triangle with her older Memphis music producer boyfriend (Rip Torn), and his son (Darren Burrows).

"Why We Fight," written and directed by Eugene Jarecki, took the American Documentary Grand Jury Prize, the festival's other top honor. The film examines a half century's worth of American military misadventures and misguided missions. Jarecki is the brother of Andrew Jarecki, whose "Capturing the Friedmans" won the Sundance documentary prize in 2003.

"Hustle & Flow," Craig Brewer's moving drama about an aging pimp who decides to become a rapper, earned the most buzz at the fest. Produced by John Singleton, "Hustle & Flow" also picked up the biggest distribution deal, signing with Paramount for nine million dollars. The popular film was awarded the America Dramatic Audience Award.

Other winners include:

--World Cinema Dramatic Jury Prize: "The Hero," directed by Zézé Gamboa and written by Carla Baptista.
