French actress Marion Cotillard is best known for her bravura portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose. She received a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and the biggest triumph of them all, an Academy Award for her performance.

Marion Cotillard was a spokesperson for Greenpeace, letting the group use her apartment for testing products.

Marion Cotillard's Film Career:

Marion Cotillard began acting as a child, performing in one of her father's plays. She first became known in her native France for her performance in Luc Besson's Taxi (1998) as Lili Bertineau, a role that she reprised in two sequels.

Cotillard first became introuded to American audiences in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003) starring opposite Billy Crudup and Albert Finney. She co-starred opposite popular French actress Audrey Tautou in A Very Long Engagement (2004). She also appeared in Ridley Scott's A Good Year (2006).

In the career defining role of Edith Piaf, Cotillard gave a bravura performance as legendary French chanteuse in Olivier Dahan's La Vie En Rose.

She won an Academy Award for performance, only the second French actress to receive this honor. In her acceptance speech, a visibly thrilled and shaken Cotillard thanked Dahan for "rocking her life."

Next up for La Vie en Rose star is Michael Mann's upcoming drama Public Enemies, joining Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. and Rob Marshall's film adaptation of the musical Nine.
