Biography : Julia Jentsch stars in the title role of "Sophie Scholl: The Final Days," the true story of Germanys most famous anti-Nazi heroine. Scholl has won great acclaim for a luminous performance as the young coed-turned-fearless activist, winning the Best Actress at the 2005 Lola Awards and the Berlin Film Festival. The film is Germany's official Foreign Language Film selection for the 2005 awards.
Jentsch also starred in the hit film "The Edukators" opposite Daniel Bruhl. She also had a role in "Downfall," Oliver Hirschenbiegel's 2004 Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Language Film. Other film credits include Sven Taddichen's 2001 Film "Julieete" and Judith Kenn's acclaimed 2004 Berlin Film Fesitval Favorite "Angry Kisses" (Zornige Küsse). Julia Jentsch made a successful debut in theater, leading to her being named Best New Talent by "Theater Heute" Magazine in 2002. Acting in the Münchener Kammerspiele since 2001, Jentsch played Desdemona in Luk Perceval's staging of Shakespeare's "Othello" and Elekra in Andreas Kriegenburg's production of Euripides' "Orestes."
