VENUS has a running time of 91 minutes and is rated R for Language, Some Sexual Content and Brief Nudity. It will open December 15th in New York and Los Angeles with a national rollout to follow.
“Venus” tells the story of Maurice and Ian, a pair of veteran actors (Peter O’Toole and Leslie Phillips respectively), whose comfortable daily routine is disrupted by the arrival of Ian’s grand-niece, Jessie (newcomer Jodie Whittaker). Maurice takes the teenager under his wing, but is surprised to discover how very little he actually knows now that his own life is drawing to a close. Cast also includes Academy Award Winner® Vanessa Redgrave and Richard Griffiths (“Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”). The film reunites director Roger Michell (“Notting Hill”), screenwriter Hanif Kureishi (“My Beautiful Laundrette”) and producer Kevin Loader, the team behind the highly acclaimed film, “The Mother.” Scott Rudin, Tessa Ross, Miles Ketley and Charles Moore are executive producers.
