By Jurgen Fauth & Marcy Dermansky, About.com

French actress Sandrine Bonnaire was only sixteen when she made her film debut in Maurice Pialat's A Nos Amours. The story of a teenage Parisian girl who turns to sex to escape her overbearing father (played by Pialat) takes a suprising turn in the film's second half. The 2-disc Criterion release includes a 2003 interview with Bonnaire and the 1999 documentary The Human Eye on the making of the film.

2. Dazed And Confused (Director Approved Edition)

Here's a suprise: Richard Linklater's second film, an amiable, meandering story about Texas teens smoking dope and hanging around, has become a timeless classic. The young ensemble cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Jason London, Parker Posey, Cole Hauser, Milla Jovovich, Joey Lauren Adams, and a then unknown Ben Affleck as your typical high school bully. This "Director Approved" edition is timed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the US Bicentennial, the era of the film's setting.

4. Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic

No taboo is sacred when Sarah Silverman jokes about rape, incest, religion, and race, race, race. Her new film Jesus is Magic documents her outrageous, merciless standup act. DVD special features include commentary by Sarah Silverman and director Liam Lynch, the Behind the Scenes with Sarah featurette, and Silverman's performance from The Aristocrats.

5. The Boys of Baraka

Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady's documentary Boys of Baraka is about a group of "at risk," "inner city" youths, which is to say, poor black boys from Baltimore, who are selected to attend a boarding school in Kenya for two years. If you are interested in the state of education America, this award winning documentary should not be missed.
