New York Film Critics Online
New York Film Critics Online is the premier organization of 23 online film critics in the United States. NYFCO is a rich mix of reviewers who have carved out original, innovative spaces on the Internet for critical illumination. In addition, some members with traditional (print and broadcast) review formats have an online presence to encourage discussion and debate with the broad population of the cyberspace community.
Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood was the big winner at this year's New York Film Critics Online award meeting. We were there, we voted and we were happy to see some of our favorites receive recognition.

Like every December, we spend one Sunday afternoon bringing democracy to film criticism: as members of New York Film Critics Online, your guides vote for the best films of 2005. As one of the first critics group to announce their awards, NYFCO picked "The Squid and the Whale" as best picture, and Fernando Mereilles won best director for "The Constant Gardener."
Your guides joined Charles Taylor (Salon), David Edelstein (Slate), Kurt Loder (MTV), Armond White (New York Press) and many others to vote for the best of 2004. As the first critics group to announce their awards, New York Film Critics Online picked "Sideways" as the Best Picture.
