Michael Cera is ridiculously sweet and awkward in Jason Reitman's Juno. Not many young actors can wear little yellow and maroon jogging shorts with such elan. Ellen Page loses out on the promising newcomer award to her unassuming co-star in part because she was so good in two films last year: Hard Candy and that other small picture, X-Men 3.

At first glance, Cera is an unlikely comedian. His delivery is flat, offhand, and often comes out as a question. Are you supposed to laugh? Yes.
