In Episode III, many dangling ends have to be tied up to bridge the prequel trilogy with the original films, and long-time fans of the saga have a pretty good idea what to expect. Anakin, the headstrong and powerful young Jedi, will have to turn to the Dark Side and wind up in the mask of the most distinctive movie villain of all time. The fate of his secret wife, the beautiful Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman) will have to be decided, and Chancellor Palpatine, the apparently benevolent leader of the Galactic Republic, will have to morph into its first Emperor. And of course, Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi will have to have their legendary lightsaber duel.
"Revenge of the Sith" addresses all of these questions, and dozens of minor ones fans have been wondering about for decades. Lucas fits Episode III into the overall puzzle with the satisfaction of a wunderkid showing off his superior Lego skills. The complicated plots fall into place with astounding precision. During the last minutes of the film, you can almost hear the tiny blocks clicking together as every storyline comes full circle to where it began in 1977. No doubt about it: with "Revenge of the Sith," the series is complete.
