New Short Films (Selling Stuff) from Sofia Coppola and Wes Anderson

What do hip indie auteurs do between feature films? Sofia Coppola followed up the lavish Marie Antoniette with a baby, an ad campaign with her famous father, and finally, by making her own commerical for Christian Dior. The stylish perfume ad features fashion model Maryna Linchuk tooling around the streets of Paris, with Brigitte Bardot's song "Moi, Je Joue" playing in the background. Watch the ad.
Wes Anderson (The Darjeeling Limited), who already paid homage to Francois Truffaut by the way of American Express, has teamed up with none other than mega-star Brad Pitt to hock Japanese cell phones. Taking inspiration this time from Jacques Tati’s Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot, Anderson films Pitt in one continuous take in a French seaside town. Watch the ad.
