Description:

The first entirely Afghan film shot since the rise and fall of the Taliban and that country's official 2003 Oscar entry, OSAMA is the stirring story of a young girl who disguises herself as a boy to provide for her all-female household in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. The surprise discovery of the 2003 Cannes Film Festival where it was screened to standing ovations and received three prizes, the film was also featured at the Telluride and Toronto film festivals and recently won the London Film Festival's top prize, the Sutherland Trophy.
