Hedwig and The Angry Inch

Guide Rating -
Pros

•  John Cameron Mitchell as Hedwig
•  Outstanding rock opera soundtrack

•  Great special features, including a full-length documentary, commentary, deleted scenes, select-a-song, and more

Cons  •  Film loses some of its manic energy in the transition to the small screen
The Bottom Line - John Cameron Mitchell's portrayal of Hedwig, a wigged-out, soul-searching transsexual in the free world will touch your heart. The film looses its oomp on the small screen, but the DVD has it's advantages including a well done documentary about the origin of Hedwig.

Product Description
•  Rousing rock musical with "Rocky Horror" rewatch appeal
•  Deleted scenes with optional filmmaker commentary
•  Select-a-song feature

Guide Review
Glam-Rocking in the Free World
John Cameron Mitchell's directorial debut, based on the one man Off-Broadway hit show, won 2001's Sundance Audience Award and Directing Prize, and for a change, all the accolades are deserved. The film received a lot of media coverage focusing on rock opera, Hedwig's extraordinary array of blond wigs, and the fact that this is a transsexual movie, but what sells it in the end is simpy the wonderful, wonderful title character.
