Short Review
In July

Christiane Paul and Moritz Bleibtreu are on their way South
Guide Rating -
Pros  •  a witty and fun road movie, Euro-style
•  Moritz Bleibtreu, of "Run Lola Run" fame
•  fresh ideas in a well-worn genre
Cons  •  follows romantic-comedy conventions
•  it's almost December and much too cold for a Summer movie
•  not depressing enough for serious art house freaks
The Bottom Line - If you missed your chance to zoom around Europe on a EuroRail pass, this is as close as you're going to get.

Product Description
•  Fresh, fun, and funky comedy by German-born Turkish director Fatih Akin
•  Clever and light fairy-tale from multicultural Europe

Guide Review
Das Romantic Road Movie
At the beginning of the Summer holidays, Daniel, a buttoned-up teacher from Hamburg (Moritz Bleibtreu) falls in love with a Turkish beauty and decides to follow her to Instanbul. With his travel companion Juli (Christiane Paul), he gets into whacky adventures on their way through Bavaria, Bulgaria, Rumania, and Turkey, by car, truck, ferry, and foot. Passports are stolen, borderguards must be bribed, sexy Bulgarian temptresses are to be resisted before Daniel can find his true love. A romantic comedy that doesn't make you feel patronized.
