This week: Charlize Theron's Oscar-winning performance in "Monster," an uncut edition of the cult classic "Trainspotting," a five-hour version of "Das Boot," and Robert Altman's ballet film "The Company."
1. Das Boot - The Original Uncut Version
Long before "Troy" and "In the Line of Fire," Wolfgang Petersen made the greatest submarine movie of all time. There have been several DVD releases of his seminal WWII film, but for the first time, the story of U96 has been restored to its original five-hour mini-series length.
2. Trainspotting: Uncut International Version
Danny Boyle's cult classic, adapted from the novel by Irvine Walsh, stars Ewan McGregor as an unapologetic heroin addict. The 2-disc set includes the featurette The Making of Trainspotting and a new Trainspotting retrospective, deleted scenes, interviews with director Danny Boyle, author Irvine Walsh, screenwriter John Hodge, and producer Andrew MacDonald, plus bonus interviews from the Cannes Film Festival premiere.
